If I’m not really paying attention, I often end up clicking the “Add Another Folder” button when I really want to hit “Save.”

Then, I waste time by backtracking – I have to cancel and start all over again. Reason 5,437 why I hate Blackboard.

What is the usability issue at the root of this user error?

I think it fails to address users’ most common needs of saving by making the ‘Add Another Folder’ so noticeable. Even in cases where adding many folders at a time is usual, it should provide a more intuitive way than asking users to press a button every time they need to create a new folder.

It should also consider adding a prompt to ensure that this is the action to take. Alternatively, it can relocate the button altogether, and add Han’s criteria as well-there are plenty of other ways to add another folder!

Is it just me, or do the “Save” and “Cancel” buttons look like they are grayed out – thus unavailable? The “Add a Folder” button looks like the only active and available option.
